Enhance Content Marketing With Participation Marketing

content marketingContent marketing is a new version of the age-old marketing approach of sending out the message and seeing what happens. Invariably, when marketing messages lack appropriate tools to take action, these message begin to fail.

A second problem is the equally old marketing assumption, created by radio and television advertising, that our audience is waiting to be entertained passively.

Included in this assumption is the belief that potential clients are basically uninformed and require help in making a decision about a product or service. Hence, the role of marketing is to aid people who simply needed information about a product or service in order to make a decision.

Clearly this marketing assumption is not relevant to today’s marketplace.

Help Clients Have a Say and Participate in Content Marketing

Today, our audience is definitely not waiting to be entertained. Like us, they are overwhelmed by the constant bombardment of information, both online and offline. This information has led the most knowledgeable and best informed consumers than ever before.

In many cases, potential clients know as much or perhaps more about specific issues than those of us who provide services intended to help them.

Today, most clients are not waiting for us to provide them with more information…there is more than enough of that online.

What they do want is to have a say and participate in addressing the issues that affect their work and personal lives. In other words, today’s clients want to participate in the marketing process.

If either or both of the terms content marketing and participation marketing are new to you, take some time to learn more about them. They can be extremely powerful additions to your marketing activities.
